About the SanDisk Security Software

The SanDisk Security software implements password protection and the 256-bit hardware data encryption capabilities of your supported SanDisk hard drive. Use the SanDisk Security software to:

• Create a password to keep others from accessing the files on your drive
• Change your password
• Remove password protection
• Unlock your drive on any computer—whether the SanDisk Security software is installed there or not

Operating System Compatibility

The SanDisk Security software is compatible with the following macOS operating systems:

• OS X El Capitan or later

Compatibility can vary, depending on hardware configuration and operating system. For the best performance and reliability, always install the latest updates and service pack (SP). Go to the Apple menu and select Software Update.

Hard Drive Support

The SanDisk Security software supports the following SanDisk external hard drives:

• SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD
• SanDisk Extreme Pro® Portable SSD

Note: The SanDisk Security software does not support:

• Other manufacturers' hard drives
• SanDisk hard drives that were not originally configured for the SanDisk Security software
